About the Event
Texas Mountain Art Seminar, Show & Sale was established to promote travel and tourism in the Texas Mountain region by encouraging and supporting the creation and sale of art that captures the unique culture, heritage and natural beauty of the Texas Mountain Region.


Small Business Skills for Artists Seminar
The seminar will provide artists with practical business and promotional tools for a thriving art business. Whether you're a single artist selling from your home or a gallery serving multiple artists, business skills - from managing the books to online promotion - are keys to success. Successful artists and business professionals will come together during the seminar to present best practices and provide practical advice for building your business and increasing sales.

Speakers at the event will include the following:

  • Hugh Campbell III, an established, successful, and professional artist
  • Ellen Myer, former manager of Tom Lea gallery, New York and Marfa. Professor, Sul Ross University
  • John Reed, an online marketing professional and web designer
  • Jose Quintana an entrepreneur with a wealth of practical business knowledge and start up experience
  • Carol Fairlie a professional artists with solo exhibits around the world and Professor of Art at Sul Ross University

All meals at the event, and the exhibit opening social, are included in the cost of the seminar. To maintain a sense of community and camaraderie, participation in the seminar will be limited. Register online to secure your seat.

The Show & Sale
The Texas Mountain region is rich with desert mountain landscapes and wildlife, a strong western heritage, and diverse cultures and lifestyles. The Texas Mountain Art Show and Sale will feature the work of regional artists, showcasing through canvas, sculpture and clay, and cultures unique to the Texas Mountains as interpreted by Texas artists. Artists and art lovers alike are invited to enjoy the show and sale. The show will run through Sunday evening, November 13.

Exhibit Opening
The opening reception on the evening of November 11 will celebrate Texas Mountain Art with gourmet hors d'oeuvrors and a selection of regional wines. The show will run through Sunday evening, November 13. The public is welcome to attend this elegant evening and socialize with artists and community leadership.
